Equality of access to justice ?

Post by Jonone »

Is it just me, but if this had been a 'council estate seige' and someone wanted to pursue a similar enquiry with legal aid would it have been entertained ?

Of course not- thanks Jonone for saying once again the truth that it is one law for one and one law for another.

I know Hungwell .. he didn't give the Police another option. That's not the point though.

I think it's a little unfair to dance on the man's grave. for no other reason, than that he appears to be a "Toff".

The police are basically trigger happy and will gun anyone down at the drop of a hat knowing full well there will never be any recourse other than a slap on the wrist and a cheeky wink from their superiors.

In this case, they had the 'misfortune' of slaying a person with a family with cash and influence, so if the cops get a kicking, just for once, they mght think twice about shooting the next victim, be it chav or toff.

After all it, may be you, one night who gets pissed and finds an old table leg in the street and says to yourself, "Oh dat'll be a noice spare table leg, if one of me others breaks!" and before you know it, you've died in a hail of lead, fired by a bunch of guys who are just itching to dischard their firearms.

So I say good luck to the toffs, if only to keep the cops in check.

His partner was a lawyer. It is not that expensive to apply for a Judicial Review...its a bit of paperwork sent to the court and when a judge is available he or she will consider it.Probably someone from one of the firms doing it for nothing so not a huge cost.Contrary to popular belief it is not hard to take a case to court. However it is time consuming and you need to know your arguments and structure them well.Barristers are obscenely over paid however despite their protestations to the contrary.

How could anyone say he didnt pose a threat?

Mark Saunders, 32, died of multiple bullet wounds in the head and body when police broke into his flat, ending a five hour armed siege during which he had used a legally-owned shotgun to fire potshots at neighbours and detectives from the window of his ?2.2 million apartment in Markham Square.
