I don't see how you can use the term "fraudulent measure" in this context... As you've stated yourself - it's perhaps too little too late and it's a last ditch attempt to (without trying to be too melodramatic) "save the world" - well, at least the capital economies - and lets face it, all of us in the developed world are reliant on the world economies.

You can't call it fraudulent and I don't think this is about pointing the finger of blame at any single person or even any group of persons - the group responsible is just so HUGE... Most of us in the developed world have been pretty irresponsible where credit is concerned so we've all got to shoulder some of the responsibility and the burden.

I hope you're wrong - I hope it isn't too little oo late and I hope the markets can be kept afloat.

Yes I am afraid you correct. It is all part of the Great Redistribution Conspiracy, by the Illuminati to take all wealth back from the likes of you an I and place it in the hands of the rich. We will all be in eternal debt to the banks, as our debts remain, but our assets fall in value.

Bush's $700 billion gift to the banks is all part of this redistribution of wealth. Once over, the cycle will start all over again, until the next collapse maybe in 20 years time.

And the Congress will not [leisurely] vote on it until Wednesday, it was reported tonight!

Mind you- it is the beginning of the end of capitalism: so who cares?

The UK really needs to separate itself from the US altogether - the financial cowboys will bring us to our knees for something we've not done. We follow them blindly and the old adage 'when the US sneezes, we catch a cold' rings true --- only this time they've got the flu and we're on the verge of pneumonia. It's interesting that Canada isn't suffering anywhere near as much as the UK during this crisis - they know you can't trust the conmen across the border, but we have always clung to the US's coat tails like a little dog. The sooner we realise that they don't give a fuck about any other country but their own, the better - they'll let us go under with no qualms.

The Arab world hate the US - and by the time they've fucked the rest of us, everyone will hate them. The only winners in this situation will be the Chinese and the Russians.

And pretty strong justification, too, if you ask me!!

I agree - some folk do deserve punishing - but we've all sat idly by and let this come about in the most part... I dont think it's possible to pint the finger accurately and decisively.

Is there any point in spending the money on "healthcare and infrastructure" if the capital economies have collapsed and everything and everyone is on their knees???

I don't know...

I just think we're ina bloody mess, most of us have played a part in that mess, it's been breqwing for a bloody long time and now is perhaps a time for action rather than pointing the finger of blame...

Yes, it's a bloody lot of moeny and us "little people" will pay the price for a long time to come - but the way I see it, we're damned if we do and damned if we don't... stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
