Barry George story

Post by Jonone »

Let's deconstruct it ....

"Ms Burley, 47, has been off work for a number of days after fainting at the Sky news studios on Wednesday."
Today's Friday .. the maximium number of days she could have been off work is presently about two.

"Sources said her ill-health was connected to worries that George had become fixated with her after she interviewed him following his release from prison in August."
The usual use of unnames 'sources' which aren't verifiable and are also unreliable. Are these sources medical practitioners? If not I wouldn't be making statements about causality.

"Scotland Yard sources confirmed that Ms Burley had contacted her local police station to raise her concerns"
Is a concern the same as an allegation? The headline talks of an accusation but as far as I can see there isn't one. She can allege that he's acted suspiciously .. it's not clear what the allegation is.

"There have been a number of lurid stories about George's behaviour, including other allegations of following and pestering women, since he was freed - but he has not been arrested or questioned."
A number? What, like the number of days Kay Burley's been off work? Why no follow-up from the Police .. because they're without foundation ?

"Last month, George was reported to have turned up at the Sky studios demanding a tape of the interview."
Reported to have turned-up .. did he or didn't he? Sky studios will have CCTV .. was he there or wasn't he ? He 'demanded' a tape ... this is different from 'requesting' or 'asking for' and suggests George was aggressive .. if it even happened.

This is a highly questionable report in my view.

He may well be innocent of the Jill Dando murder, but nevertheless he seems a dangerous character, as proved by his actions over the years. He needs locking up indefinitely under the mental health act, because it's obvious he's not all there - and is a danger to women.

What an absurd hypothetical situation. Would you trust your partner in the company of Daniel Craig for an hour ?

She's probably trying to sue Sky for negligence by saying that they didn't undertake risk assessments before they asked her to interview him.

There's loads of people with a f**k of a lot more stressful jobs than her that don't go off on the sick like that.
