Burley irritates the living piss out of me...I usually go and watch another news channel if she's on. Lucy Verasamy, on the other hand, I could watch all day long.
As for Barry George, people are overlooking a number of things: just because the case and subsequent conviction were ruled to be unsound doesn't mean he didn't do it, it just means that the Police fucked the case up. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last. We shouldn't forget that Barry George also has previous form...he's no saint. That doesn't mean he did do it either, just that the conviction was unsound.
Personally, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him, and I think it would have been smarter to send a male reporter. One of two things would have had to have happened to get a female reporter in there as first choice 1) she demanded the interview, which is most likely as Burley gives the impression of someone who believes the sun literally does shine out of her arse, or as swampthing so eloquently put it, she's a smug cunt or 2) the producers deliberately chose a female because they thought George would be more open/vulnerable with her, given his previous predilection for TV personalities. Either way, with 20/20 hindsight, it's looking to be a pretty bad decision whichever way it came into being.

Re: Barry George story
Imagine how stretched Police resources would be if people up and down the country made similar 'allegations' as Burley. Imagine if, lets say, you were a financial adviser and you had a consultation with a client who then returned a couple of weeks later asking for you when you were on your lunch hour, or better still just asking for a piece of documentation. This is what Burley's complaint seems to amount to. Don't you think she's being over sensitive and attention needing ?
Re: Barry George story
If she's genuinely spooked it's karma for asking heartless insensitive questions like the one on the Youtube clip. That's not investigative journalism it's spite.

Re: Barry George story
Hope she didn't give him the old Sharon Stone flash before the interview - that would possibly account for his actions

Why didn't the video taker pick him up and take him home? We could put him on display in a zoo

Re: Barry George story
George hasn't been found guilty of a crime other than that which he has served time for and which was 20+ years ago, and yet you would deprive him of his liberty (for a second time) in secure accommodation and a hospital regime because it seems 'reasonable' to you? You two are prepared to play judge and jury ... i'd say you were the dangerous ones.
