O/T Copying onto DVD

Anyone know of a reliable source that can transfer adult material in bulk from digital camcorder tape onto DVD ?

Need a minimum of 20 copies each time. Have tried doing it myself one copy at a time but need somone who can do it quicker.

I asked Jessops if they have started to do this and I was told ?50. Before you say, its adult stuff, I have had no problems with them processing slides to CD rom (thats full sex), though the quality is poor.

I would think that the best bet is to look in the back of video magazines.

I would think that though decent DVD recorders are ?1000 that these will come down to ?300 soon, as more come on to the market.

You didnt mention whether you were going to dump the whole tape onto DVD, and for that you would need a suitable high end machine but editing first would save a bit of space, and doing it yourself will save you a lot of time and dosh.

Yes Zipper, I was just thinking that myself - Allan talking a load of cobblers again. Zipper is right you can buy a DVD writer for about ?250 now. However, doing one at a time is no good for us 'in the biz' so we have invested a few grand in one that you can load 50 discs at a time in! It's well cushty.

I Hope ADW will be authoring his discs before committing them to DVD - it's a bit cheap and tacky otherwise and it'll only feed the prejudices of the Europeans and Yanks who probably think that kind of professionalism and ability is beyond the scope of us small time Brits.

What do you record on to DVD-R?

If so I thought these were not compatatable with all DVD players and therefore only play on about 90% on all domestic machines.

Obviously not good business if one in ten of your customers are going to complain.

I may well be wrong as I am not a techno head and the information was given to me by a mate.

I am intersted to know if my old mate is right though and I will obviously bow to the superior knowledge that you guys have.

I don?t know how competitive their rates are. 20 would be ?33ea ? doesn?t leave much room for profit. ?DVD 9? is (I beleive) single sided or dual layered DVD?s = twice as much GB storage on one disc 9.4Gb Vs. 4.7Gb for DVD 5.

If the last post was aimed at me then the answer is "no" I don't have a burner myself.

I do have a mate who downloaded some films from a paysite and burned them on to DVD's which I have borrowed. They play on my newer player but not on my older one.

Personally I am always slow to embrace new technology.

Answer to this is easy, Burn a DLT send to any one of many pressing houses and they only charge ?1.00 per DVD. OK you need to order 2000 but hey thats business,

You need a machine from they do a CD-r drive that willtake up to 400 CDrs in 4 drives, also available is a DVDr unit of similar capacity but the price works out to be around ?8500!!!!!!
