Guns 'N' Roses new album title...

Post by max_tranmere »

It's called "Chinese Democracy", as many people will know. In my opinion one of the daftest names for an album since the days of The Smiths! What are other people's views?

And 'Origins of Symmetry' is immeasurably better than 'The Queen Is Dead' or 'Chinese Democracy' ?

Is that the name of Keane's new album? Sounds familiar anyway. I never thought "Strangeways Here We Come", "The Queen Is Dead", and "Meat Is Murder" could be topped in terms of the daftest album names of all time, but I see Guns'N'Roses are having a go! lol.

I'm assuming Slash aint on this one. Kind of suggests this is a bit like Blur without Graham, or The Smiths without Johnny - in other words not the band. Although Blur did carry on as a three-piece which some fans liked and some didn't. And Pink Floyd, of course, carried on without Roger Waters (although he was hardly happy about it to say the least!.lol..)

Well it could be argued that first Roger Waters carried on without the others.

Then the others carried on without Roger Waters.

Mott The Hoople carried on without Ian Hunter and Echo & The Bunnymen without Ian McCulloch.

"Strangeways Here We Come" was a genius title, a masterstroke seeing as it worked out to be the final Smiths album

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

i kinda like the title, it's got a bit of irony about it
and as for no slash and izzy amonst others not being in the line up now, does it really matter? as long as it's still axl is still lead vocal, methinks not.?

I really like the new title and the new line up on the album is pretty tight and have made the best rock album of the year by a long margin next to Metallica's Death Magnectic.

I even think The Queen is Dead is a great tile for an album as it stands out which is what you want it to do and the fact its being talked about here has obviously left an impression whether its good or bad.

I think with no promotion put by the band themselves with touring or appearances on the release of this album can only mean they are gearing up for a reunion tour which is pretty much all set as far as band memebers go except for Axl who is not so much keen on the idea, why i dont know.

Reading Slash's bio at the moment and he says that before he dies he wants to play with every musician he has played with which to me is code for "I want Guns back"

Of course this will probably never happen !sad!
