It was announced today (Tuesday) that the original 4 members of Blur, who last performed together in 2000, are reforming for a huge London gig next year, and will possibly record again aswell. The gig will be in London's Hyde Park on Friday 3rd July 2009 and tickets go on sale this Friday. I think it's great, Blur are one of the best and biggest British bands of recent decades and the show will be a must-see next year.
I imagine it will be quite emotional for Alex, Damon, Dave, and Graham as they make the long silent walk from the winnebego's parked in lines a hundred metres behind the stage, then head out across the ramps to take up their positions on stage for this mammoth show - with the enourmous crowd sweeping over the horizon. I hope to be able to get a ticket this Friday but I doubt it - I will try though. Otherwise it's turning up on the day and spending ?100 (at least) with a tout. Was anyone else on here a fan, and are you glad to see Blur back?

Financial tender
So, Blur jump on this particular bandwagon do they?

Always regarded Damon Albarn as a talentless asexual monkey. He's more of a London celeb who doesn't travel too well - he comes over as utterly pretentious when interviewed, banging on about his 'varied' projects, although as far as I can tell it's all the same stuff under different headings - and how he went to Mali to discover and play with world-class talent, all in the name of charity, mates
He fools the London-centric media with his chirpy mockney Essex boy shite and half baked talent - but he's just a semi-talented fooker whose image outshines his talent.

He was tupping Justine from Elastica Johnny, and you weren't. Admit it, that's the essence of your grudge !grin!

I wonder what Justine is up to now. She hosted that achitectural programme on BBC3 about 4 or 5 years ago and then vanished. She must be nearly 40 now.
