There is still an undercurrent of anti Jewish feeling, I wouldn't put it stronger than that, amongst the left. Like the constant sniping at the USA it's more about elitism and wanting to appear holier than thou.

I think the present offensive will only alienate Israel's cause but can understand thier position.
Perhaps they should have adopted hamas policy and and just randomly dropped HE into gaza continuously, that seems effectively to be ignored by the chattering classes and the luvvies.

Indeed: I switched on BBC News about an hour ago, and they had some Palestinian spokesman talking in the studio.

As you'd expect, he was very indignant and was condeming Israel, accusing it of heavy-handedness and pointing out that Hamas rockets had "only" killed 40-odd Israelis in the past 3 years.

Imagine though the outcry that there'd STILL be if Israel had "only" killed 40-odd Palestinians.

They're not interested in the welfare of the Paletsinian people - only in scoring propaganda points. Wouldn't you agree? Are they not also culpable?
