Surviving Gazza - OCD and Bipolar

Post by Arch Stanton »

Watch Surviving Gazza at 10PM tonite (Monday) on Channel 4 if you want to understand how stressful it is to live with someone with OCD and bipolar. I can sure you it is far from being just a fashionable trendy affliction.

It'll be best for everyone when he does die - hopefully it'll be soon.

I don't think it will be best for Gazza - though could be wrong on that one ...

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

I thought the programme was very sad - just as I did his autobiography a few years back, and the documentary following his ill advised attempt at a new beginning in, of all places, China.
It would appear he's headed for a miserable ending sooner rather than later.
I was surprised though at how well the family came out of it, particularly Mason who seemed a very sensitive and sensible lad.

Bottom line this bloke is ill and will never get better. Why? Because basically he is a selfish man who does not see the need to consider other people over his own contentment. He has the money and the hangers on to prolong it for as long as he chooses.I know his type...loads of false starts and heartache. It's a shame for his family but he really never will change and they need to get on with their lives. He will get on with his and basicaly will say bollocks to anyone that wants to thwart him.

Fair point.
But the impression I got from the Chinese debacle was that even his nearest and dearest - ie that fat oaf '5 bellies' and his old man did little to help, instead pissing it up and making the most of the Gazza gravy train.
The poor fucker looked like a little boy lost with no one to turn to.
