Tony, if you rent the first two series you will get a very differnt show to what you are getting now. As I said they have got rid of the entire cast that was in series 1 and 2, with the exception of Effy and a few supporting roles, so it is not the same people, and the format seems to be differnt too. So much of this weeks episode happened in the college - apart from the first 10 minutes where they were outside on the streets of Bristol. The first two series' were out and about a lot more and had characters you liked - people like Sid, Michelle, Tony (that's Effy's brother but he will not be seen anymore). It's a big risk for any programme maker to get rid of the entire cast of a show and get all new people and hope that it will appeal to the audience. Very big risk, and one unlikely to pay off in this case!

Is that Welsh actress who played a teacher still in it ?

The one who was always shagging her pupils and loosing her clothes ?

She was well fit.

spider, I know who you mean. No she isn't in it - at least she wasn't in this first episode and they seemed to show all the people who would be in the series in this first epsiode so it suggests she is not in the series at all. I agree that she was a very fit young lady! She shagged that guy in the last series, I forget his name, but the one who died on his bed after suffering some convulsion or other.

I will give this series a go, watch another few episodes, but it is really not showing much promise. That mouthy guy, with the red top and the tattoos, who I mentioned earlier, doesn't work as a character at all and I think the writers/producers will regret having created him! He is just irritating.

So far the only reason that's been given for watching Skins is that it saves the effort of the journey from one's bed to retrieve decent porn from one's stash !

I respect that reasoning, but it's not enough !

I thought Tony was alright, he was one of the main central characters. Rather like Kurt in Hollyoaks in the early days. Him and Michelle were the kind of 'Kylie and Jason' of the show. They are having big difficulties establishing new central characters, that the viewers will like, in this series - as I've said.

I watched a repeat of the 1st episode and really enjoyed it. It had much more humour than the arty farty second season.

I watched episode 2 of this last night, it was repeated on E4. It is absolute crap! That irritating pikey guy, who wants punching, dominated this episode like he did the first one. Annoying, unappealling, boring, and loads of totally unrealistic things keep occuring. Like last week we saw them arrive at college, this dickhead had two mates from before and that was it. 7 days later he is part of this posse of 10 or 12 people, none of whom really seem to like him and have nothing in common with him, but bizarelly they follow him around everywhere, attend his birthday thing in the pub, then another party with him and so on. What did other people think of this second episode?

Couldn't agree with you more. The guy is a complete tosser and ruins the whole show. The rest of the characters seem ok and look like they could be worth watching.

At least with the last lot, you could kinda believe that they grew up together and were all friends before and didn't magically meet in the first week.
