Steady on Reg..I think the films going to be aces. Im looking forward to it and saw the trailer recently too.

The producers behind it have done a great job since T2 and I love the tv series as well.

While I might agree with you about the 30 second rant and get it off your chest, I only heard a sound clip and didnt see what happened.

He sounded deadly serious too and the guy was winding him up by just merely talking. i get the impression what ever it was was brewing over time and didnt just happen on the day as he threatened to walk off the set until the guy got fired...Someone else posted here that guy has had prior history of the same fuck up..Speaking of guffs...

What about the focus puller that screwed up the group talking heads shot in "The Last Crusade" i couldnt believe they left it in. Bold as day too when the characters were speaking it was constantly going in and out of focus...Not becoming of a big Spielberg movie but there it is to this day.

Now thats the thing I can see a director screaming about...Spielberg did scream at one actor for not dying properly on Empire Of The Sun which ironically is Bales first movie when he was a wee nipper. Maybe thats where he got it from...

And I thought Stevie was such a nice guy. LOL

Many years ago, the South Bank Show did a programme on Lean directing Passage to India. As any recordist will tell you, its a lot quicker and cheaper to get an atmos track there and then at the end of the good shot, taking only a minute with as much quiet as possible. Lean went off on a little strop, in his own imperious way, to the effect that he was always having to wait for sound and they were a bloody nuiscance.

Passage To India was at the end of his career when he was advancing in years. s they get older people can become less inhibited so you have to allow for this. Earlier in his career the 'stiff upper lip' would have prevailed, i'm sure.

When it comes to dishing out on-set bollockings, James Cameron (Terminator, Titanic) is in a class of his own. I saw a t-shirt on a technician in LA that read, 'You dont frighten me; I work for James Cameron.'
