Jeremy Clarkson gaffes again....

Jeremy Clarkson, that overpaid wassok who is bizarelly employed as a tv presenter when he should be earning ?200 a week shelf stacking in Tesco's, has made comments about the Prime Minister that has got Scottish politicians hot under the collar! He has described Gordon Brown as "a one-eyed Scottish idiot".

Gordon Brown is blind in one eye, he is certainly Scottish, and he is certainly an idiot, so what's the big deal? Imagine a Scottish tv presenter describing an English policitian in a derogatory way. Say the English person was slightly deaf, and the comment included English stereotypes. Say a prominent Scot on tv called the English person "a bowler-hatted, partially deaf twit!" would there be the same hoo-ha about it? I don't think so!

Clarkson, annoying though he can be, cuts through the sea of politically correct bullshit like a hot knife through butter and (once again) is spot-on in his summnation of Gay Gordon.
He must be sailing close to the wind - though it helps for him of course that his parents were never responsible for having a top BBC show pulled, so he may be alright

Ad hominem attacks belittle the person who makes them. One can criticise Brown for a lot of things - policy, integrity, basic all-round hopelessness - but his nationality (in the terms that the attack was framed) or lack of the full compliment of functioning eyes are irrelevant.

It is factually correct. He is Scottish, he does have one eye and he is an idiot

Personally I like Clarkson and think Top Gear is a fantastic program.
But I think that because of The T.V. License, BBC presenters should have better standards.
A common defence in matters like these is that if you are offended you can turn over, which is fair enough, but with the BBC you are still paying your fee like it or not.

Im Scottish and dont consider it racist but bringing up disability is out of order.
