I ordered a dvd from http://www.vsom.com/
Dvd doesn't play on my computer dvd rom or my Proline 1000 machine. I plays on a Proline 2000 machine in b/w (I suppose an ntsc problem with that machine)
Anyone know of a DVD player that can play most things?

Re: O/T vsom DVD problems
cheapo dvd players are ten a penny these days, joe. asda are selling some for ?69. you just need to check that they can be remote hacked. check your local supermarkets, safeway, tesco....
if you visit an AV forum someone will give you a list of players that suit.

Re: O/T vsom DVD problems
oh, i just looked at your post and i thought you asked about cheap players....
well, i would go for a samsung they're very well speced and can be hacked. and the control system is instant so its more conrollable than a vcr

Re: O/T vsom DVD problems
My personal opinion would be to buy a cheap-end multi region PIONEER model (from Richer Sounds/Sevenoaks Hifi/Tektronik etc) - I've owned one for over 5 years and virtually all the PIONEER models will play anything you throw at them, including VCD. Most region 2 players will output an NTSC signal (due to the fact that Japan is region 2 and runs on NTSC format) - are you sure the TV was NTSC capable???

Thanks for the reply
'are you sure the TV was NTSC capable'
I think it could be (it is quite a new tv set)
