It depends on his background and his ability to present. He always came across quite well in his appearances on Question Time.

Never thought I would ever defend a member of the worst band of all time, but May's Ph.D in astrophysics is genuine. He has recieved an honory doctorate at Exeter for something but he really did work for the Imperial College one.
