Vote Labour ...for the sake of the country !

Post by Von Boy »

I was chatting to a high up executive from a very well known accountants and he said the following:

"The last thing the UK needs now is a change of government, after 12 years of Labour rule, with the massive explosion and changes to society, tax, benefits, imigration and law, the country does not need another 10 years of the tories changing it all back again to a low tax small government setup.

To reverse most of the last 10 years would mean hardship to too many public sector workers whose total has risen by nearly 1.5 million in that time to just under 6 million people. The people of the UK are, even if they don't say so, quite happy to carry on as before, and happy to fund a massive public sector which benefits us all"

This was from a true Tory voter who really did believe that as a country we should not change governments and be content with what we have got !

Interesting ! !thumbsup!

When a party is voted out and another voted in, you get a change of Government but rarely a change of direction. The momentum that has built up and has been going forwards generally continues. Like when Livingstone was voted out as London Mayor and Johnson took over, you can hardly see any differences. When John Major lost in 1997 and Tony Blair won (this was the end of 18 years of Tory rule) all that really changed was that the new Government was less corrupt. So if the Tories win next year it will make little difference really.

The key point there is the 'low tax, small government' set-up.

The City knows that ordinary Joes may be seduced by a time for change- but really do not want to go back to Small Government. Cuts in education and health; old folk dying of hypothermia in the winters.

The Tories are too damn arrogant/greedy/whatever to notice this- or maybe to care.

Scotland and Wales can now do something about this.

Will the next Tory government lead to the break-up of Britain and civil unrest in England? Maybe the man from the City has it spot on.

Probably has that view because all of his business is from the public sector. This shower has to go, regardless of the consequences. I think your friend will be disappointed at the next election. Such a large public sector does nobody any good in the long run - and we can't afford to keep chavs in 42 inch plasmas and take-away pizza every night.

Sounds like an urban myth you got from the man in the pub!

Imagine it was true- so you plan to take ?22k a year from someone. In fact, from many. Don't you think they might not like that much?

For Burning-Down Britain, Vote Tory.
