Urban myth, you say?
Well, Steve R does have a soft spot for UFOs and the like.

Urban myths, almost by definition, tap into a current vibe.

For somebody that claims to be the innocent little chappie (most of the time) Sam I think you have tried to put the boot into a few of "our" regular members recently ... of course no doubt you will gloss over these instances when you next demand an apology from the next person (probably Colonel lol) that calls your bluff. So please tell us what has Steve R. done to deserve this latest swipe from your good "innocent" self??
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?
Re: You Couldn't Make This Shit Up
Yes, there is an urban legend that the story is an urban myth.
There is, furthermore, said to be a rumour that the legend is without foundation. Most commentators, however, regard the rumour as apocryphal.

That's just an old wives' tale.

I have? Who would they be, and more importantly, if I have, how am I different to you and a lot of other posters?
of course no doubt you will gloss over these instances
Or you will highlight and aggrandise them, yes?
next demand an apology from the next person (probably Colonel lol) that calls your bluff.
You've lost me. I remember asking for an apology but those posts were deleted during my absence. That inclines me to believe that colonel's original remark, or my reply, or a further reply I didn't see was against the FAQs. I don't know any more than that regarding this instance.

Again, you've lost me. Is stating that Steve R has a soft spot for UFOs considered a 'swipe' now? I suppose it would be a swipe if the person it was directed at didn't believe in UFOs and other such nonsense. Steve, however, while I wouldn't assume that he does believe, I am confident in stating that he does indeed have a 'soft spot' for them (if you understand the turn of phrase). I fail to see how my statement could be seen as a swipe if it is indeed true.
Now, crofter, as I have done on numerous times in the past, I could make you look foolish by dipping into the many, many swipes you've aimed at people in the past. And the archives only host the posts that weren't deleted by the mods. Fear not, though, for I realise that you seem to be immune to embarrassment and so it would be a pointless task.
I doubt that any of this (that being truth) will change you attitude and behaviour, though, but I felt I'd be doing myself a disservice if I didn't respond.
