Another place to buy a domain name is UKReg .

I don't know if they're the cheapest or not but they can supply a free .co.uk domain name when you buy a .com name.

It's always better to buy your domain name yourself rather than via your website hosting company, easier to transfer should you move hosts.

As to video cameras, depends if you want to start with high definition or with standard definition and work up to high.
If standard definition, I would suggest getting a 3 chip camera, results can be very impressive. Of course, high definition cameras are more expensive but whichever you go for, get one that uses the "MiniDV" tapes.
