What a Carry On
Peter Rogers, the producer of the Carry On films, died earlier today. Legendarily careful with money when it came to paying the cast.

In their day they were all funny - apart from Bar-bra Windsor.

Carry On Up the Khyber is one of the finest British comedies, followed closely by Cowboy. They are not far behind the best of Ealing. I never tire of either of them.

Porn historian, if you're excluding Babs on the grounds of talent please show me a list of the talented people that doesn't include Jim Dale. Babs in monster .. and you know it !

You're not wrong there mate... to those two, I'd add Carry on Screaming, Cleo, Cruising, and Carry on Nurse to that list of classic Brit comedies...
Most of the other Carry Ons were OK, there were a few truly awful entries in the canon - England, Girls, Columbus. As they say, you can't re-heat a souffl?.

How true, and I should have added Cleo to my less than exhaustive list. It does include one of the finest lines in comedy, veritably Shakesperean almost; 'Infamy, infamy! They've all got it in for me.'
