People have died in wars to defend democracy, Gordon Brown became prime minister in a undemocratic way, maybe you should pause to think before you make stupid comments.

My stupid comment didn't insult our war dead's sacrifice graham.

Bearing in the thread is about the world wars. The ultimate sacrifice given will always be appreciated here.

I have no issues, other than with lack of clarity.

Errr... no. If you read the thread properly you will see that I wasn't
the only one who took it amiss- and C.J. himself admitted the
comment could have been misconstrued. And I was quick to apologise
unreservedly when I became aware of my error. Very few of us are
innocent of the occasional such error [you for example, with your
'issues' comment above] and few of us have supernal insight into
others' mind-sets and are able to deduce their motivation at first
glance; most of us are merely human.

But that still doesn't explain which comment you were originally
referring to

I trust you also intend to follow this advice.
And I believe the expresaion is "engage brain before putting mouth
in gear"- I don't think the foot comes into it [which it usually
doesn't, if I'm doing the driving]
Yes, I am the worst driver on the planet.
