I did not AT ANY TIME say Lamont got the Conservative party into the ERM but I repeat for the LAST TIME, by accepting the role of Chancellor of the Exchequer he was via Cabinet responsibility, accepting the decision and by ANY SANE PERSONS DEFINITION, BEING A CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER AND HAVING TO EXPLAIN PUTTING UP THE INTEREST RATES THREE TIMES IN A DAY INCLUDING A STAGGERING 15% IS A GOOD DEFINITION OF BEING IN POLITICAL DOODAH WHEN YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NATION'S FINANCES. If Gordon Brown had been in a similar position I somehow doubt whether you would have been so caring and sharing. You are not related to Lamont are you, lol?
