I noticed on the Eastenders thread something about gay Muslims.
I was often in Dubai during the 70?s and I noticed loads of men walking side by side with their little fingers interlaced. The story I was told at the time went along the lines ?Muhammad was born of man? so they were all shagging arse looking for another prophet. Many of the men were soldiers and I had no intention of asking a couple of woofters, sorry gays, carrying machine guns if they enjoyed a bit of brown so I don?t know just how true that is.
I know Dubai is now a top holiday resort but back then the locals used to show what they thought of you by spitting at your feet as you passed. I think if they had physically attacked you the reprisals were pretty severe by their own government so I always felt pretty safe.
I was asked over for a holiday by a relation who was working out there recently but I had to refuse. I?ll always remember Dubai as a shithole and as the saying goes ?You can?t polish a turd? Most likely it has greatly improved but you can?t change the heat and I can?t change my memories.
