That's not the point. These two truly do not deserve to live. They did not just kill their victims, they tortured them for hours, and for what? Nothing, a few quid and a mobile phone. They world needs a break from scum like this.

In terms of how much the receiver feels the punishment, life in jail is a much stronger punishment than the death penalty. They really feel it. One of these two will do a minimum of 40 years. He will be in his 60's when he comes out. He may well hang himself in jail. If and when he comes out he will have been so institutionalised he will wish he had NOT been released - totally unable to hack it on the outside. To quote a line from the Shawshank Redemption: "Life is what they give you and life is what they take..."

After seeing that mans poor mother on TV last night, knowing she will have to live with the knowledge of the suffering her son endured, I'm with Von Boy.

And it wouldn't matter if we have a crap, pointless parole system because he ain't going to re offend after a neck stretch.

O yes we have really progressed as society, no harm mate but we havn't at all, i'm not backing the death sentence one way or the other but abolishing it has progressed us further not one jot.
