I'm not too pleased how I could see policemen in that clip allowing eggs to be thrown and someone denied his freedom to speak publicly.
What I find funny, though, is JRPornstar and Max's outrage. I mean, in a thread that's still on the front page of this forum regarding Muslim protesters being forced off the streets you both didn't seem so irritated. Could it be that denying people the right to free speech is ok as long as it goes with your particular views?
Hypocrisy?
Both the BNP and the Muslim protesters verbally abusing our soldiers are the types of people that annoy and offend me, but I recognise that in a supposed free society they should be allowed to express their views without a mob chasing them off the streets.
I'm being consistent; you two [JR and Max (and maybe others who feel strongly enough to add something on this debate but didn't on the other)] are showing your bias, I feel.

The difference is the BNP haven`t done anything wrong. You may not agree with their views but they`re entitled to have them.
These pricks are doing the BNP`s job for them, making them look like they`re being denied a say and that they`re victims of persecution from unwashed commies

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

But the Muslims protesting against the soldiers didn't do anything wrong either.
They weren't inciting violence or murder.

Re: Is this democracy?
Let me clarify:
1) Muslims air their views and are forced off the streets by other Muslims. You seemed ok with that.
2) BNP leader airs his views and is forced off the streets by opposing group. You are not ok with that.
Both groups forced off the streets are 'extreme' in their views but neither incited violence or murder. Both were denied their right to express themselves freely.
My opinion is that both should be allowed to speak publicly without being removed physically or heavily intimidated to the point where they are scared to express themselves even though I don't agree with them.
Yours and Max's opinion seems to be that it was ok to remove the Muslims but not the BNP guys. Why is this?

So you're sticking up for physical abuse now?

Re: Is this democracy?
If the BNP wanted to actually hold a press conference, where their policies could be scrutinised by the press, they would have done so in a suitable location.
The protesters were 'tipped off', possibly by the BNP so that they could get some more free publicity and create a seige mentality in their supporters and voters. All stage managed and the protesters fell into their trap.
