So many good comedies to choose from, for British I'd say: Fawlty Towers, Porridge, and Open All Hours - all so close to perfection.
Not really ever been a big fan of American stuff, but I always did like Diff'rent Strokes (one of my daughters is named after the blonde girl in that).

That was "Going Straight".
That was a good series, really underrated.
Only 6 episodes, shown in 1978. Thirty-one years ago. Amazing I never realised it was that long ago.
