Re: Belfast
Simple fact is they should never have been allowed into this country in the first place. Most EU countries won't let them in until 2011, but our government lets any scroungers in - I bet most of these Romanians are on benefits, seeing we are a magnet for all people from poverty stricken states.

Re: Belfast
Have you noticed how the media have taken it upon themselves to call the people who have attacked them 'racist'? Yet another case of the supposedly impartial TV media labelling things the way it suits them to. Whether something is racist or not is something that has to be determined by an official body or a Judge. Just like if someone was filmed bumping someone off on CCTV, and you saw the face of the attacker and everything (so it is obvious that Dave Smith killed the person) it is not for the media to decide whether Dave Smith is a 'murderer', someone who carried out 'manslaughter' or whatever, this has to be determined by someone else - even if it is obvious Dave Smith killed the person.
The media had no right to call this a 'racist attack' until that is officially established. I can understand the locals in Belfast hating these people - what is the advantage to Northern Ireland by having loads of Romanians turn up? Absolutely none. They are either a drain on Benefits, healthcare, schools, and so on, or if they are working they are making it harder for locals to get a job as they are taking jobs the local people would normal have taken, housing, and so on. Whichever way these Romanians are living their lives in Belfast it will be a negative thing for the local people there. Yet another government f**k up! Blair started all this, Brown has continued it.

captain, it might be rich achievers aswell as poor ones who are crowing about these people in equal measure. Also, it is not just the crap jobs foreigners take, it is often top executive ones aswell. A senior person at the Mayor's office in London is Australian, a top reporter on Channel 4 news is an Aussie aswell, so is that woman Amanda Platell who used to be William Hague's PA when he was Tory leader - she is now a newspaper columnist. The top man at London Underground (who apparently earns three times what the Prime Minister earns) is American, and the guy who used to run the Millenium Dome in London was French. These are just a few examples of many.

Here's a video dedicated to the Romanians, by a fellow gypsy Gogol Bordello - Through The Roof 'n' Underground

>If you don't have a job and you can't get laid and you smell like mouldy >camembert, it's your own fault, not the fault of race 'X' that's coming into >the UK and stealing all of our jobs.
So if someone broke into your house and took over one of your bedrooms as their own you would not mind.
And if they went into your kitchen and helped themselves to food out your fridge and cupboard (and paid you nothing) you would not mind.
And then if they started stealing things from your house and taking them to the local pub and selling them of you would not mind.
These people in Belfast are Roma gypsies. There are many Roma gypsies in Italy and there have been huge problems with them stealing and begging. The situation is so bad the authorities in some Italian towns have paid for some Roma gypsies to go back to Romania.
If I lived in Belfast and had lost my job, and had lost my house, and saw my taxes going up, and then saw these people arrive who did not work, got free housing, free school meals, and increased the local crime level, I think I might get a bit pissed off with them.
From your append you seem to live in some utopia land and not the real world.

Re: Belfast
I've had firsthand experience of the Roma Gypsy problem in Italy - I was in an empty carriage of a train in Florence, waiting for it to leave for Pisa. Into the carriage came a Romanian Gypsy, who first asked me for money - when I said 'no' he tried to take some - literally trying to get his thieving hands into my pockets. Luckily a train guard on the platform saw what was going on through the window and the Gypsy ran away as he came to sort it out. From that experience I learned never to get on an empty train and always to sit in a carriage where other people are present. These people really are scum - they start out begging, but will resort to robbery if they think they can get away with it.

Most 'Big Issue' sellers in London now are Romanian. It's completely allowed too! You couldnt make this up! They come from abroad, have no means of supporting themselves, then a charity has to keep them. It gets even worse: judging by their clean clothes, mobile phones, and trips to the supermarket to get sandwiches and everything for their lunch, their not even homeless!
