I like twitter as by typing on it I update my facebook and myspace profile accounts immediately. So it is time saving.

i've only been on it awhile and dont have these thousands of friends like some but Im not fussed about that because I also know a lot of my customer base have normal lives and dont even get on social network sites.

I do it because it is the done thing to do rather than not. is it a good marketing tool? Who knows. I'm still consistent and maybe the social network stuff is intrumental in this.

I certainly dont use it to make friends but it has been useful than not

Thanks to social networking sites we can do business within the industry with producers and performers without upsetting the BGAFD contingent...Just a shame I didnt think of it sooner

Interesting comments. I've clearly not mastered Twitter yet, that's on my 'to do' list...

Twitter is utter rubbish - should be renamed Twatter, especially when you get twats like Stephen Fry posting crap like:

Hello everybody, I'm in Bali today, filming on your tv taxes
Got up - had a cup of tea
Going for a shite, fans

etc.

For my non-porn work i use Twitter regularly, split across 3 profiles, posting links to blog articles i've written, news that sits within my niche and generally communicating.... I find it invaluable. Have around 6000 followers which, if i'm posting pretty much daily, can bringing me a traffic increase of around 75% over if I didn't Tweet.

If you use Twitter properly, using desktop tools like TweetDeck or Seesmic and engaging with people (rather than 'shouting' or sprouting garbage), following the right people and building up a valuable list of followers, it can be a total eye opener.

For breaking news as well it can't be beaten. Look at the situation in Iran as a good example of how viral Twitter can be ... not only that how much of a proper 'peoples tool' it can be *scuse the pun*.

I'm developing a new adult website at present. The use of Twitter, Facebook and MySpace will feature very heavily in my marketing strategy. These days it can't not.

Just read that last post from me again. Hope it doesn't sound pompous. I'm very pissed and am concentrating very hard at putting a sentence together...

The only social networking site I use is Friends Reunited, and that has recently become more like a community with the addition of interest groups.

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?
