Suicide is always a 'crime' of egotism, and usually one of despair.
Terribly sad. Had he the resources to realise how worse off many
others are he might have felt less cornered. A pointless waste of
a young life.

I wonder, given the often higher career-expectations heaped on
Asian Britons, whether that might have ben a contributory factor.

Any waste of a young life, however shallow or misguided [which
rather seems to go with the territory], is to be deplored.

It's unfortunate and sad but its not the first time that high achievers find they don't have 'coping strategies' when things go wrong. What is slightly surprising is that the man's father is said to be a psychologist so you would think that he's grown up around people who are more attuned to the idea of 'emotional intelligence' and suchlike.

From the age of about 15 everything has gone according to plan - GCSE's, A levels, the right university, a good degree, internship, a high paying job with fantastic earning potential, and the moment something goes wrong either he found himself tragically ill equipped to deal with it or else he was in the midst of a breakdown that he and others had turned a blind eye to for months. The Michael Jackson comment is not a sign of wellness.
