Because of the dedication and training needed up to these events I'd have to give it to Paula Radcliffe. Numerous world records in marathons, 10ks and cross-country and winning races like that not long after giving birth has got to be appreciated.

And anyone who can take a shit in the middle of a marathon and still win has my vote!

well, there aren't too many sportswomen to think of I reckon e.g. Becky Adlington was the first British swimming olympic champion for ca. 48 years wasn't she? Fatima didn't win much did she?, neither did Sharon Davies, Paula has won next to nothing on the track although she eventually excelled at the marathon.

My personal "thoughts" on these two threads would be to say: "which Brits have made a huge global impact?"
