Gordon Brown was elected as an MP at the last election, then made Chancellor by Tony Blair.
I'm not even a big follower of politics and know that Gordon Brown had been chancellor since 1997. The last election was in 2005. Go figure.
He was not voted by anyone to be Prime Minister, either in his party or by the general public.
Give me one single PM that's been voted in democratically. Can you? As for the party, well, did anyone challenge him for the position? As a party they decided Brown was the man to take them forward, and as a nation we chose that party to lead us. I think the British system has always been this way so cannot see the problem.

Oh, and as for GB ever saying sorry:
Pretty easy to find on google and he's apologised over a few things. Now, I'm not saying he's the best thing since sliced bread but at least get your facts together if you're going to imply stuff about him/anyone.

He certainly doesn't speak for this hard working, decent, tax payer.

The public have never elected a PM, we've always elected parties. We've been through all this before.
If you vote in a party purely based on the charisma of it's leader at the time then that's your prerogative. One thing is for sure: In the next election you will put an 'x' in a box that corresponds with a 'party' NOT a candidate for PM. I'm willing to wait until the next election for my apology, when you see that I'm correct. In fact, lets have a little wager, eh?
If I'm right you have to do a forfeit: the breaking in of Max_Tranmere. I'll do it if you're right. Fair?
It's a life-changing forfeit, I know, but I feel pretty confident it won't be me knocking on Max's door with a bottle of Eros lube.
