Copyright owners are fighting back and s ive suspected for ages, it wont take busting down every door to make it work.

Hmmmm wanna sort copyright theft? Here`s a few useful ideas then. When I pay for music I pay for it on all machines. None of this shite from itunes where you can only transfer it onto one ipod or pc. Would I have that retriction from a cd? Similarly if I`m syncing my ipod to my xbox to play music through that it`d be nice if the 360 recognised all my music.

Same with movies really, the companies should just use common sense. And lets not portray these companies as hard done by. These are the same labels that fuck a lot of artists themselves

I see what you mean Mr Chapel but then is that a justification for getting it for free.

There is always a cost to producing this stuff and if its given away fro free (well you heard all this already)

They dont need to go after the millions downloading, a few more cases like this a nd a lot of people wil just fear the idea they might get the dreaded knock for their arrest and many will just simply avoid it rather than get into trouble.

Those still doing it can run the risk of playing russian roulette to see who is the next one up for a whiopping fine and filing for bankruptcy is ok if you dont plan on amounting to much or doing anyhting with your life like get a mortgage or what not.

Always nice to know BGAFD contributors are fearless though.

I understand your position on this because it's your way of making a living but,and I've asked this before, how many people have never watched/listened to some hooky films or music ?
Is it still technically illegal to record things off the tv ? I mean everybody's done that

The punitive damages model for success is all a bit pointless really.In the end the result that copyright owners are looking for is more money returned for their initial investment

Unless the courts decide to make those who run the software that allows mass sharing of almost anything repsonsible then they'd be far smarter to target ISPs whose revenues are pretty much reliant on the misuse of copyright material continuing.I think to this end the Viacom versus Google/Youtube 1 billion dollar lawsuit in the US of A started last year is potentially going to be a lot more useful than targetting the end user.

The argument that if you stop users uploading/sharing will then equate in a massive increase in sales is a false horizon
