Re: And if you get the wrong man?
Indeed. Only this week police are exhuming the body for DNA tests of the new suspect in an old murder for which an innocent man has just served 27 years.

Living less than 15 miles from Lockerbie, or about 90 seconds flying time, I consider myself lucky the plane didn't land on my town. However I am convinced, as are a high percentage of locals that the guy in jail is a scapegoat and the real killers will never come to justice.
Re: I dont believe in the death sentence BUT...
In drugs, piracy and terrorism the real instigators almost NEVER
come to justice.
They're clever people- but they're also cowards. It's almost
enough to make one believe there really is an afterlife so that they
will be punished properly.

Really Robches????
I thought the guy died from his injuries as result of the coshing. if that is true then Ive fallen foul of my own preachings about not believing what you read in the press.
I know Im the first to go on about not believing what you read in the press and yes i fucked up with my initial post.
Anyway, so Hilary Clinton is saying we shouldnt free this guy Megrahi. (well she would wouldnt she?) Obviously he is a trophy presentation of their war on terrorism since americans like their sense of closure.
Still if he wasnt involved, how does anyone know for sure? He might be just the only one they caught from a bunch that conspired that act of terrorism.
So what shall we believe is the truth?

The fact is that Jack Mills died in 1970 of leukaemia. It is said he "never got over" being attacked, which may be true, but being coshed in 1963 did cause him to die of cancer in 1970, it's a red herring.
As I said, in 1964 you served the sentence you were given, and the 30 year sentences really were an outrage, no robbers had ever got sentences like that before, and it was this stupidity on the part of the judicial system which generated sympathy for the robbers, and gave them an incentive to escape if possible.
