This is terribly sad-if more women/famillies/kids went to footy, how much nicer itd be for everyone-its interesting that this sorry state of machismo occurs in football, not rugby,tennis,athletics?... In the States us girls / kids can go along to any football mtches and not worry about a $1 coin taking an eye out!.. Some "Men", and i use the term very loosely here, have alot to answer for

... and to further elaborate; the traditional core of their support
was always from the Isle of Dogs. Cold Blow Lane, and all that......

Contemporaries? Hmmm... not quite. And are you seriously contending
that T & H didn't 'jazz-up' their 'histories' just a teensy bit?
Just the teensiest weensiest little bit?

Also did they write under their own names even? i like the idea that the wives finished off the papyrus /manuscript/stone tablet,or whatever as they slept, sending ovenight by camel to the publishers.....and thus becomes history lol

There IS some evidence that women wrote in the classical period
[apart from Sappho, of course : -)] but honestly, it just wasn't
the 'done thing', oh my no....

Marathon, yes; but Thermopylae?

And innit great that we've dragged this thread from knuckle-dragging
morons, to ancient history?

holly

mate of mine made the obvious mistake of choosing to take his 2 kiddys to the millwall game on tuesday and paid the price for it.

Managed to make it into the ground without his kids having to see what was going on outside. But once in and the game had kicked off he realised 20minutes in that the situation was getting way out of hand and took them home both in complete tears at what they were seeing!!
