The Beeb have run the story for 48 hours [per-lease!] as a headline,
stating that their differences are irreconcilable.

I agree with most of that eloquence.

But I think/hope 'Wonderwall' will survive. It is truly sui generis.

Noel made a cruel joke but Lennon was never cruel right ?

For the record I lost interest in Oasis after the third album which means they've been off my radar in terms of buying anything for about 12 years. I think Noel is pretty smart but maybe not 'book smart' if that's what you're looking for, but there is more than one kind of intelligence. I agree that as a band they've lacked curiosity which I think is a prerequisite of artistry, thus I think Noel is a craftsman or technician rather than an artist .. others will disagree.

As i've suggested elsewhere I don't really get why you need to express your preferences in terms of personal attacks and hostility directed at the Gallaghers.

He wasn't. It did a great musician no credit.
I yield to no-one in my admiration for St. George of the Fretboard,
or 'Wonderwall' : -)

'Something'- was this the best seduction-tune ever writ?

Just about everything you've written about them has been negative. If this had just been about the music that would have been understandable, however you saw fit to opine about the Gallaghers as individuals and how they appear to you in terms of their intelligence and what they wear. In what way can this relentless negativity not be seen as hostility ?

Very cruel, and often ill-informed.

Not me; that's a wonderful summary.
Much better than anything that would have expressed my reservations
about their soi-disant 'star' status : -))

But do I sense a certain back-tracking from your early comments?
Just being bitchy- it's wot us rock-Gods do......

I'm 'book smart', too. I also have two degrees- one from KCL, and
one from the University of Life.
So I guess I'm 'book-smug' : -))))
