A few years ago I decided to digitise my music collection and put it on my computer. I had many compilation cassettes bought during the 70's and I couldn't believe how much utter shite there was in amongst a few gems. There was so much rubbish on these tapes that I eventually just gave up.
Yes there was certainly a lot of good music but I can guarantee that your toes would curl up at some of the dross if you heard it now.

Jigsaw ? that rung a bell, I found this does anyone remember the movie name that this track was used as the title track for ?

I received my first 'rub out 'as a hand job was known back then by Katie Hamill during the opening sequence of that film at the Rochester Odeon in 1975 so the song kind of stuck in the memory....

I'd go for the 60's as the best decade for song writing, and the 70's for the best bands and music production (in rock and pop). Some of the stuff recorded in the 70's still sounds as good as anything.

The Beatles stand alone as the best of the 60's in terms of material and production.
