Re: Causing Offence
Some terms are offensive and some aren't. Call an Irishman a paddy and that is fine. So is calling an American a yank or an Australian an aussie. Call a black person the N-word, or an Asian person the P-word and it is very offensive (I would never have any desire to do that anyway). It is just how things have evolved. You could question why is it that swear words make some people gasp and offend some people, when ordinary words do not - after all words are just a collection of letters that sound a certain way when they are said, but it is just how things have developed over time.

Re: Causing Offence
The big difference is calling someone Jock or Taffy is reffering to the country they come from. Most people calling someone a paki or a nigger are referring to their skin colour, not their nationality.
Hence the same reason racist people call Indians paki's or people from Bangladesh. I've never heard someone call them an Indi or a Bangla.

i have never heard a person from vietnam or singapore called a vie or a sing either.they are refered to as chinkies.whatever happened to the British stiff upper lip and sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me?people need to get on with their lives and grow a thick skin.where i work there are around 60 people from all over the world.if someone is looking for a particular tool it is easier to say the aussie has got it,or the saff (south african) or the chinky or the paki or the fat cunt or the northerner rather then launch into a full blown description of who they are what they look like and what they are wearing.if i have got it they will say go and see the bald fat cunt.it is an easy point of reference to refer to someones most distinguishable feature.you will never ever get rid of racist language.you may pass laws to restrict the way people think and speak but then you just send it underground .i use that language every day not to intentionally cause offence but because it is the language i was brought up with.if it causes offence that is hard luck.it is not said with malice and shouldnt be recieved with such.my parents ar Irish and recieved dogs abuse when they came to England but i didnt see anyone standing up for the Irish in days gone past but there seems to be this obsession that we cant offend anyone who is not white it seems to be the number one sin for the politically correct mob

Re: Causing Offence
Anyone who was able to be respectful wouldn't call Vietnamese or people from Singapore chinkies. Just like they wouldn't call Japanese of Koreans the same. To do so is clearly a lack of education.
If you know of the abuse your parents suffered I would have thought you'd not want to be guilty of doing the same to others, be it intentional or not. It's just as easy to use the guys real name instead of referring to them as chinky or paki.
I can't see why showing someone respect instead of using what is known to be a derogatory word to the race involved is so hard a concept to fathom.

Re: Causing Offence
on plantations years and years ago,a foreman or any white person would call any black person by the N word.... It literally meant a person with no name...Why bother remembering 50 peoples names when the one would do.. Obviously wrong... So In the Evolution of societies over thousands of years, slavery evolves with all its many evils,(forced incarceration, the separation of families, endless beatings, rapes, hangings etc etc) until its revoked and rejected thank God... So how on earth,a multi millionaire powerfull hollywood Icon like Will Smith can get away with using the N word in Bad Boys (he calls Martin Smith it a dozen times, minimum) i just cant fathom........I would have thought this would have caused outrage in America-.... Then you have countless Rap artists in the USA use the term also............ I would never dream of calling someone the N word, because to me it is insulting.. Yet its in Hollywood blockbuster films and on the Radio.... And Im sure Richard Prior used he term in his Stand up comedy routine,to any audience mainly comprised of ,you guessed it,mainly non causasions! So i really dont know whether the words ever going to go away, because whereas people like me would never use it,it seems its ok for some people to use it,in certain circumstances............. I just want to get them out and make people smile !wink! ............................. PS... my next post.. The "H" word and how,far from being insulting,it just sounds ridiculous....
Always certed, works to Hard BG/GG/ANAL/DP+EXTREME Fetish.

Re: Causing Offence
Meh screw the blacks, indians, irish, other whiteys
what about us poor gingers eh? who gives us a thought? noone thats whom theres every ism except gingerism.
its a world conspiracy is what it is. ( TIC )
by the way the N word stems from the latin for black. just in case you din't know.
The racism argument will continue until the day whereby humans throught their own stupidity wipes themselves out.
I don't even know if racisms truly exists by that i mean i think its more due to total ignorance and the fear of someone being different. Its no different to being in school when the lad wearing glasses was 4 eyes or speccy cunt or someone with zits was a spotty bastard etc
I think the colour of someones skin is a quick point of reference for someone to insult another person, you hone in on what is most obviously at the time difference about the other person that is different from yourself.
Clearly there are true racists but again ignorance and bigotry are the culprits. I'm not racist but thats essentially because i've been educated not to be and couldn't be bothered with it anyway. Though i lived with 2 indian guys when I was a student, we were all best mates and i was the stupid white english twat and they were paki bastards to each other.
I do think we are living in an age where people go out of there way to be offended, i live in northern ireland now and people fight tooth and nail to be somewhere where someone else can say something so they can moan about it and say how offended they are. christ its even got to the point where in my workplace people can be offended on my behalf if someone fondly calls me gingaand take legal action.
once again a balance is called for.
