Hi
I notice that Naughty Nick Griffin, the Holocaust denier has come in for some well-earned stick from a number of former army generals.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... orces.html
Apparently the BNP has been stealing army imagery for its racist campaigns. This is a bit bizarre given that 10% or so of the army are non-white and the most recent person to win the Victoria Cross was a black guy.
Particularly bizarre given no black or Asian person can join the BNP and their aim is to get all coloured people out of the country.
Apparently, the BNP has argued that the only reason Lance Corporal Beharry was given the VC was due to "pc" reasons.

This is the second time the BNP has had a spanking re. the armed forces. The Royal British Legion demanded that the BNP stopped using the poppy symbol in their publicity for obvious reasons. The BNP is known for its Nazi sympathies and many brave men gave their lives fighting the Nazis.
You couldnt make it up with these morons.
Cheers

Does he care, just more publicity.
If there is one thing any underdog likes its when people have a go at them, just gets them more "sympathy" votes.

Many brave men gave their lives to stop this country being invaded.
They did not expect it to be invaded again (with Government support).
Are you happy that people we allow into this country plant bombs on trains and buses, then threaten to plant bombs on planes, because I am not.

I wonder how Gordon Brown was able to politicise some non political people, like senior Army figures both past and present. The timing of this is interesting aswell - two days before the BNP's leader appears on Question Time on BBC1. The Labour Party are running scared and are doing everything they can to stop the BNP now. I said on another thread about the 'encouragement' that would have been given to the Equality and Human Rights Commission to pursue the BNP for their whites-only policy recently. Now they've got senior military people, including Simon Weston who who badly scared in the Falklands War, to go after the BNP too. I wonder what Labour will do next.
Re: Griffin gets a spanking from Armed Forces
Isn't it funny how liberals invent 'values' that the public supposedly share which also happen to be theirs .when i was in the army in the 80's there was massive support for the NF.and i dont remember being taught tolerance and fairness more how to use weapons and kill people.i wonder when prince harry and his little paki friend were out in Afghanistan were they trying to be tolerant and fair or trying to bag a raghead?

"Are you happy that people we allow into this country plant bombs on trains and buses, then threaten to plant bombs on planes, because I am not"
No.
Am I happy that the son of immigrants won the Victoria Cross fighting for Britain?
Yes
Am I happy that 10% of the British Army are non-white and prepared to fight for the British forces?
Yes.

Yet again you come out with total nonsense.
One of the generals, Richard Dannatt, a former Army Chief of Staff was one of the four main army figures that opposed the BNP's use of army imagery.
Dannatt was
a. very critical of Brown whilst in his role and complained about the lack of support in terms of equipment.
b. has joined the Conservative party as an adviser on Defence.
So Max to summarise what you appear to be telling me is that "Gordon Brown was able to politicise some non-political people" e.g. Dannatt to the extent that they were a thorn in the Labour party's side whilst in office and joined the Conservative party.
Not a very convincing argument, Max!

Hi
From what I know about the army, people are largely taught to follow orders and fight. I have the utmost respect for people who put their lives on the line in Afghanistan and Iraq. Certainly in the case of Iraq, I think this was a disastrous error of judgement by Blair who I personally would like to see alongside Bush on trial in the court at the Hague.
If I was one of the 10% of the army who are non-white I wouldnt be feeling too liberal towards Nick Griffin who believes a. I shouldnt be allowed to join his party and b. shouldnt be allowed to be in Britan.
Very irritating I would have thought for those who are facing getting blown to bits in Afghanistan every day, especially. given that the nearest Griffin has been to the front line is when he got pelted with eggs by the UAF in Parliament Square.
Cheers

Re: Griffin gets a spanking from Armed Forces
Before you launch into a "The Labour party works in mysterious ways" post in response to my comment on Dannatt, let me ask you, a couple of straightforward questions.
You are in charge of an army, 10% of which is made up of non-whites.
A political party comes along and has very limited success at the polls, but uses military pictures of your army's illustrious history as if they are the only party that cares about the army. The political party concerned, the BNP would not allow 10% of your army to join the party and their stated aim would be to get that 10% out of the UK asap if elected. The reason being that they regard that 10% of your army as invaders of Britain.
My question is, Max, as head of the army do you think the BNP's approach would be:
a. good for morale within that 10%?
b. bad for morale within the troops?
Could this possibly have something to do with the generals getting together to give Griffin a spanking?
Cheers
