Muffinman,
Very interesting I will read the link. Symonds is in the book as Simmons, but I did not know how to spell his name then.
He tried to sell me my own books back after raiding Gordon Smith's house where Gordon Smith was printing books working for me. I just got onto another bent copper on the Porn Squad that I was paying to sort him out!

Re: authoritarian or libertarian ?
What fascinates me is how easy it would be to get you two together for a chat. Would make a great article - or serialisation.
You were on opposite sides during the Soho porn/police corruption heyday. But both of you are older and wiser now - though your stories certainly need proper editing.
Unlike, say, David Shayler - who may well have been driven mad - you are both sane, and both highly critical of the establishment - whose shenanigans about the VRA have just come to light, with precious little comment from the mainstream media, and precious little from the UK porn people too. Too busy playing games with the BBC to promote St. Trinibums!!
When I was in Amsterdam, I was trying - and eventually failing - to get a "counterculture" magazine (with multimedia extensions) off the ground. If anyone has some reasonable capital to sink into it, I could always resurrect the project.
ELEVATOR PITCH ELEVATOR PITCH ELEVATOR PITCH ELEVATOR PITCH
Maybe someone might like to fund Mike Freeman making a feature film - fully and artfully pre-scripted for maximum irony - the profits of which could underpin the production of a monthly print magazine (subscribers pay online to receive it) with an Amsterdam dateline and a counterculture/underground/skeptical perspective on current events (i.e mine), informed by well-researched historical revisionism (e.g. the Dutch were never tolerant - they were mostly collaborators in the war and are still anti-semitic) and interviews with those who were really around in the 60s and 70s doing interesting things - coffeeshop owners, pornographers, spiritual gurus/seekers, forgotten musicians - the list is truly endless and they are all popping up on the internet, but in a very haphazard way.

Thanks for prompting me, Mike.

Muffinman,
It would make a great film but it's unlikely that anyone in the UK would get involved in such a project.
Incidentally I have spoken to Lindsay and he said that the BBc filmed hours about Videx and the Eighties but it was never published!
