Nick Griffin was a WINNER on Question Time.

Odious creature that he is, I still believe the BBC and mainstream politics as a whole scored a famous own goal in this televised debacle.

Griffin, sweating and shaking profusely, was given a ridiculously hard time by the hand picked audience and panel alike.

Yes, he was made to look foolish with regard to his Ku Klux Klan connections, and his ludicrous Holocaust denials, but, as he rightly pointed out after the event, despite getting slapped about, he still managed to get in a 'few punches of his own.'

Most notably, his references to the role of women in muslim countries being treated as second class citizens, and his declaration of indignance at the endless flow of immigrants being allowed into the UK were not properly addressed by the usual 'grey' politicians brought in to ridicule him.

Don't get me wrong, the muslim girl on the panel would look great in a bukkake movie - so no accusations of racism should be directed at me, and although Griffin is a sleazy fuckwit of the highest order, I think the BBC's engineering of this exercise in far-right bullying did nothing to dissuade the simpleton who finds Griffin's product appealing.

Instead of treating the programme as any other Question Time, every question was aimed at Griffin and his party, and Jack Straw's limp ramblings did nothing to win over the ever disenfranchised ordinary citizen of this country.

I believe Griffin was 'let off the hook' too often, and daft questions from the floor only allowed him more space to wriggle out of awkward corners.

All in all, a most unsatisfactory end to the most hyped TV debate of recent years.

No real surprise if I am honest though.

The biggest thing, as you said, is that it was a huge own goal which will only give them more publicity and worse the very useful tool of saying we are portrayed and treated with complete bias or as Griffin is now putting it "being bullied".

The biggest disgrace however, above Auntie's fuck up, is the 'political elite' slapping themselves on the back in ignorance thinking doing it in this was a job well done.

Whether he 'won' or not the BNP will be destroyed in the next year or two. I can already see David Johnson typing his reply where he disagrees with me here but the Labour Party, and in 6 months time the Tory Party when they win office, will just keep changing the laws and keep encouraging and helping bodies that are opposed to the BNP to join the organisation in vast numbers, in order to destroy them. Operation Black Vote have already said they will be encouraging black and other ethnic minorty people to join the BNP in vast numbers to destroy them when the rules are changed on their whites-only membership, so you are probably looking at another year or two before the BNP implodes. The BNP will probably, I am only guessing at this particular thing but it is very likely, do things to try and stop vast numbers of people signing up when the rules are changed - probably by introducing rules similar to what a private club would have where people have to nominate others to join and so on. If and when that happens a law will be passed outlawing such things and saying that EVERY political organisation must allow anyone to instantly join and to have anyone attending local meetings. In BNP stronghold areas, like Barking & Dagenham, look out for 100 muslim or black people arriving at a local town hall meeting, signing up, then voting for a non-white person to be the local candidate for the BNP in that ward. This is going to happen and when it does I fear civil unrest in areas like Barking & Dagenham - something which I will condemn if it was to happen but probably will. The BNP are about to be smashed.

I don't see the point of having anti-bullying strategies in schools, it would tend to lead to a disciplinary in the workplace, and then this programme goes out which seems to say that it's okay - 'might is right' when it's about intellectual power or the 'legitimacy' of mainstream political parties.

To me it was all a bit unseemly.

I think that you are right. As much as it made enjoyable viewing, a lot of people complained to the BBC saying that the programme was biased against Nick Griffin and the BNP.

And they have a point. Nick Griffin looked completely out of his depth, thrown against an audience that all wanted to shout "sieg heil" after everything he said. But then again a lot of politicians on QT have looked as bad under not as much pressure.

I mean Jacqui Smith got a louder boo than Nick Griffin on QT a few weeks ago, so thats gonna be fun...

If politics UK is anything like politics in Oz, then the main parties operate like a cartel - pretending to compete but really operating a cozy little exclusive club for each other's benefit.

If any outsider looks like breaking it up, they all co-operate to eliminate them.
