Its funny how they never run out of money for 5-a-day coordinators or diversity project managers.

One of our favourite playgrounds as kids was the local salt-sands. A couple of acres of piles of the stuff, which made a great landscape for playing cowboys, army, etc. The stuff was always there, year after year, just waiting to be used.

Then they sold off the land for development, and now storage consists of a few tons in the corner of the council compound, which gets used up quickly when needed, and can't be replenished quickly enough, as of course, the roads are blocked and the deliveries don't happen at 3am, when its needed to be useful.

I bet those English bastards are to blame!

The English are to blame for every other bad thing that happens in Scotland.

It's because the English have oppressed the Scots for centuries.

Now give us your money you Sassenach bastards.

Oi sweaty, back behind the wall!

Sooner you lot get independence the better, you'll soon come running back begging us to take you in again when you've made a Zimbabwe style mess of running your own affairs.

Haven't you seen The Last King of Scotland. Old Idi was a very close relation of mine. I would be having roast peasant or lowlander for supper tonight only I've no salt. Wait a minute though ----- he was Ugandan.
