The plot sickens...
Re: Huge Man United debt.
When you dance with the devil...........
They wanted to become a PLC rather than staying as an FC because it would bring in millions, which would allow them to lord it over everyone else, win every trophy every time.......
Except they found that if the highest bidder has other interests than on the field performances for buying the club, there's nothing you can do to stop them.
No good whining now, cockney reds!

Ignorant nonsense.
Who's "they"? The only reason Man Utd floated as a plc was to enable Martin Edwards to get his money out of the club to spend on whores. The official reason was to raise money for a new stand, but you can always borrow money for a capital investment like that. No, the butcher's idiot son wanted a way to get hold of his money.
As it happens, the plc was well run and debt free, but that did not stop asset stripping corporate rapists like the Glazer crew moving in. They are utter, utter scum and I hope they all die of cancer.

And now they're talking about transferring the training ground to the holding company, then renting it back to the club! Paying rent for something you already own. You can't make this stuff up.

I think what you're trying to say is that it didn't stop people from selling their shares to Glazer's company.

City on the way up, United on the way down - dreams do come true. And it looks like the "Council house" chants will be over and that 30 years sign will be coming down very soon

I didn't sell my shares to the cunts, in the end I got a cheque marked "Dissenters Account."
Seriously, I wouldn't mind someone buying the club with his own money, these gimps borrowed the money, then transferred the debt to the club. In effect, they bought the club with its own money, and loaded it with a billion dollar debt. That's just wrong on every level.

Until Iran drops a nuclear bomb on Abu Dhabi. When City's involved, anything can and will happen.

Its not all bad
For Man Utd and City fans, it could be a lot worse.
They could be Notts County supporters where the supporters trust had the biggest shareholding in the club and then handed it over for free to Munto Finance in return for a "promise" of millions being made available.
The former Notts County chairman who negotiated and recommended the handover of the club to Munto Finance in the summer said he feels he was "hoodwinked"
Maybe if they had had Sol Campbell, who could see through the bullshit straightaway, as chairman they mightnt have ended up in the crap.
