People like Mario Saleiri deserve to win awards, with brilliant locations, plots, costumes, real actors, film crews and lighting from the Italian film world. I had the privilege of starring in a couple of his films set in a real castle in Rome and got to see him at work..........BRILLIANT! Most porn is doomed, but people like Mario will survive and they deserve to!

Re: Anyone read this - top 5 reasons porn is failing
All this porn is failing stuff really comes down to there being so much of it. The article does make some obvious points I agree with but there is so much of it out there for free, paysites, specialist niches that porn has expanded or morphed into something for everybody so collectively it is still big bucks but the disemination of profits is scattered far and wide now.
It makes perfect sense that a lot of people are going to suffer. I just didnt realise it was that bad in Pornoland USA
Mr Chapel echoes my sentiments as I've stopped buying in home made contributions to go along side our exclusive shoots because a lot of the home made stuff is out there available for free plus I can tell by the star ratings what is popular and what is not and even though I htink a lot of homemade videos are interesting the members dont always agree.
There is a lot to be said for exclusivity and keeping things varied within a theme. Gonzo/ pov is played out simply because everyone is doing just that with the same girls and woe betide if your camera work is jittery and all over the place.
What seperates the men from the boys is how creative you are with the camera and how you do it. Most amateurs dont even buy a wide angle lense which limits their framing for a start.
As Mr Chapel said; no one wants to see big hairy bollocks swinging like pinch bags when you want to see the meat packed in the kebab. Naht ah mean?

The point being if you scroll to the bottom of the Times article a Mark Sampson replies that the clever money is now going into porn, he claims to have invested ?50,000 into a well known British adult site and gets a return of ?15,000 a month, believe it or not, which flys in the face of your article that says that porn is failing !wink!

A lot of modern porn DVDs are so bad I think a pirate would have a good case to sue the copyright owner for wasting his time!

Porn is not failing and staistics show that it is the main reason that people acquire a computer and the secret of success is to understand how to get your pages listed on Google images. If you put Kylie Simon into your browser you will see that you are directed four times to eroticartist.co.uk on Google page 1

'A lot of modern porn DVDs are so bad I think a pirate would have a good case to sue the copyright owner for wasting his time!'
I thought that was class lol!
What made good porn was the customers that bought it...fetching in the internet & making it legal as almost destroyed the industry, we were lucky enough to have been there from an early time before the mass infestation of film makers so we have not been affected too much.
To sell now days you have to be lucky or have a niche, even if you have a niche others will soon copy it so again it all comes down to luck rather than stars or camera skills.
I was given some American glossy films the other day & they were all the same sort of thing & very boring whereas i could watch Your Choice DVD's to the cows come home so there was no contest even though one cost thousands & the other costs peanuts...its about imagination not money.
My 5 top reasons...
1. The internet
2. Too much choice
3. Laws on what & where it can sold
4. producers with more money than sense
5. Not having the coverage soft-core as in the UK..making softcore in some cases a better earner.

Of course i know it is not your article but you posted the link to it and yes i did read it, what i am pointing out is that the article that you refer to claims that porn is failing whereas the reply by this person in the times indicates otherwise, now if this Sampson bloke is taking ?15,000 a month from a British porn site then i would like some of that action !wink!
