Am I paranoid? Recently I've been reading the tabloids at the local health clubs and I am getting the impression that they are deliberately attempting to sow a permanent state of fear and envy in their readers.
All their stories seem to revolve around the presumption that you (The reader) as a working, law abiding tax payer is being "Pissed on" or laughed at by;
MP's
Bankers
Judges
Councils
Premiership footballers and their clubs
Benefits Cheats
Hoodies
Travellers
Immigrants
Somalian pirates
Asylum seekers
Power companies
Prisoners
Violent burglars who can walk in and out of your house at will.
Crafty sods who sue the NHS
Crafty sods who sue their employers
Terrorists of all kinds
Swine flu
Resergence of swine flu
Paedo's
etc etc
Does anyone have a theory as to why the media would wish to do this? Does it in some way control us, by scaring us? !confused!

It seems that the people having the biggest laugh are the media.
I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.

Re: The politics of fear!
"Muslim Somalian pirate asylum seeker suffering from swine flu was playing in Leeds reserve team at the same time as claiming benefits for him, his 13 year old wife and their kids" said the prosecution counsel to the judge and jury in his opening address of a terror trial expected to last 6 months.
"He always kept himself to himself" said next door neighbour, single mother, Charlene (15). "Well apart from the time he gave me bird flu of course".
You read the story here first!

Maybe you're right, I remember the days you could go into a bank and simply open a bank account on the spot.Even trying to register with a doctor yesterday I had to bring in a ton of ID.
I think that our laws and values were fashioned at a time when most of the people of this country had a mutual respect for each other and had a basic trust. We were civilised, I remember even as recently as the 1970's coming back here from travelling all over Europe and falling to me knees and kissing the ground. Why? Cos at last I could take a dump in a proper fucking toilet that flushed and had proper bog roll and not strips of newspaper lying on the floor and a hole in the ground. You could leave your jacket on the back of a chair in a pub and not dream that some fucker would nick your wallet. There was a saying that, "A gentleman's word is his bond." You could do a deal that would last, just on a hand shake, not a contract and lawyers.
Yes, this country used to function and function well in its own eccentric way. When I was a kid I worked in A & E, in a major London hospital, on a Friday and Saturday night it was so quiet I'd be sleeping on a slab in the morgue for most of the night. Now your local A&E is like a fucking war zone full of drunken chavs and local scum demanding attention and a tiny handful of people with genuine accidents.
It would have been shocking to see a sign in a hospital or other place saying, "Physical violence against out staff will not be tolerated"
So maybe you and the media are right, this country has been fundamentally ruined and sadly I think it's all too late to sort it all out.The only thing that could bring back those old values would be a coup d'etat by the army and then of course people like me and everyone else in porn would be executed without trial, because what we do would have been totally unacceptable in the "old days"..........
Origins and reasons for creation of the Welfare State before benefits cheats and scroungers existed in huge numbers:

No, not a hint of paranoia mate.
My health/ max fitness routine starts with a "Workout" in the sauna and then a long trudge of at least 15ft to the steam room followed by a "Power Walk" of another 10ft to the hot tub. After all of this, i'm exhausted and have to collapse in the bar and have a "Protein Massive Abs Power Drink" with a top up of a "wee dram" and a fag, to bring me back to life. It's fucking hard keeping fit and I have to do this punishing regime day in, day out!!laugh!
