When I start paying income tax to Africa then I'll call myself African.
Wait a minute though, since the UK gives "AID" to all and sundry I must be multi-national.

Well, twitter has it's uses, somewhere. Do I, as a product of my society, take a white person's claims of being indigenous to a given area less seriously than people of other colour claiming it for other areas on our planet? I think I do.
I'm questioning why I think that way and whether I'm being inconsistent and, in fact, prejudiced. If so it seems many too think the way I do and this inclines me to suspect it's an inconsistency that permeates society in general.

Why does it grate you so much that a very rich nation gives money to very poor nations?

What "grates" me is the fact that the money we give rarely reaches the people who need it. Most of these nations are corrupt. You never see government officials starving. I'd love to see the back page of their bank books.

We give aid to India and China, countries who have a space programme. Time to stop that, methinks.
