"I think the attacks on the BNP are quite absurd from many people in society".
Why?
"When you say that most BNP members are morons I imagine most are just ordinary people who are afraid for their and their kids' futures".
I suspect both you and RoddersUk are correct. BNP members are ordinary morons who have no understanding of the BNP history, constitution and connections with racist violence over a number of decades.

Re: The BNP is now open to all..
There are factions of the Jock Nats who would rid Scotland of any non Scots, so in a way they are as dangerous as the BNP.
These are the ones who have not forgotten what the English did to Scotland and whilst I sympathise with them on that we should be looking to strengthening the Union, not breaking it up with these stupid little Assemblies.
I have Scottish friends who are domiciled in England and want nothing to do with the Nats.

Re: The BNP is now open to all..
I have never understood historical grudges. Should most people in Britain hate Germany because of all the millions of our country-folk who died in the 2 world wars, events which happened much more recently than all the England/Scotland stuff? No. I have no issue with Germany at all. What's in the past is in the past. Also, with the Union, Scotland receives a lot of money from England and even if you bring into consideration North Sea oil that would only just about balance things out, and it is unlikely the oil would have been secured and exploited had it not have been for the Union anyhow. Also, the oil is a finite resourse so even if that counter-balances the financial affairs between England and Scotland, what will happen when that runs out? There is also a Scot running Britain as the PM (a PM no one wanted but who just arrogantly appointed himself).

Re: Max
David, I think it is wrong to vilify a million people within the country. According to NBATBNP (Nothing British About The BNP) 3 in 4 BNP voters are just ordinary people who are very pessimistic about the future - as I said previously. If no one else cares about these people, many of who are poor and live on rundown estates in places like Hull, Oldham, Burnley, etc, and the BNP are the only people who ever come knocking on their doors, then that is bound to have an appeal. I would never vote for them, but I have never been poor and I have never felt totally neglected. I condemn the 1 in 4, as stated by NBATBNP, who are the racist lot who would appear to want an all-white Britain and may well support things that Griffin was saying as recently as the 1990s about how the Nazi Holocaust never occured, I just think that desperate people do desperate things. The BNP's support base would hugely shrink if the main 3 parties stopped doing what they are doing: namely allowing the highest immigration into Britain ever and altering so many things about our society to accomodate newcomers, most of whom refuse to adapt and be loyal to this country.

According the The Sun newspaper yesterday the first non-white person who is joining the BNP is a 78 year old former teacher, who is a British-Indian and a Sikh. I thought this was both interesting and strange aswell. I can not see why he would want to join the BNP.
Re: The BNP is now open to all..
Nope.
I praise no Lord, and as for ammunition, definitely no. I just think that the Jock Nats are anti English and anti Union. They don't deserve shooting.
Some seem to believe that my answer to everything is to shoot first and ask questions afterwards.
Wrong.
I just believe that certain people should be shot.
There's nothing wrong with shooting people as long as the right ones are the ones who are shot.

Well, I think the Sikhs tend to adapt quite well to their host countries, and as a consequence they tend to be a lot less forgiving for people from a similar ethnic background who adapt less well. So I suspect that his thoughts follow that kind of pattern, e.g. being fed up with allowances made for (especially) Muslim integration that Sikhs feel should be wholly unnecessary. Of course, I'm speculating here...

Hi Max,
Overall, I think I understand where you are coming from.
"I think it is wrong to vilify a million people within the country."
Not sure why this should be the case. If the party they vote for has a racist, violent history and policies, the number of people who support it is irrelevant as to whether they should be condemned or not.
"3 in 4 BNP voters are just ordinary people who are very pessimistic about the future - as I said previously. Remember it is ordinary Germans that supported the Nazi party because they were fed up with the economic conditions in 1920's Germany. It was ordinary Germans that kept quiet about the slave labour and extermination camps within their borders. Being ordinary and poor does not necessarily mean it's okay to be brainless and stupid which is what BNP supporters are.
"The BNP's support base would hugely shrink if the main 3 parties stopped doing what they are doing: namely allowing the highest immigration into Britain ever "
I agree that the BNP's support base would shrink if the government introduced more stringent measures on immigration from outside the EU, particularly on fake students and multinationals bringing in cheap labour from Asia. I also think that it was a big mistake for the labour government to estimate the number of Polish workers coming here at 20,000 when in fact it ended up being hundreds of thousands. This put an enormous strain on infrastructure in certain areas of the country. They should have followed the policy of other EU states which limited numbers for a period of years.
"immigration.....altering so many things about our society to accomodate newcomers, most of whom refuse to adapt and be loyal to this country".
I don't think of multiculturalism as such a bad thing as you appear to. To be honest, I would much rather there were hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Britain than the archetypal, ignorant, pissed out of their head, white English kid out on a Friday night rampage. Islam has a long and illustrious history and culture as does Hinduism. With regard to the Muslims that I have worked with and socialised with, without exception they have been integrated into the workplace like any other person. Some were religious, others were not. Bit like most other people really.
