1st class only Tories
1st class only Tories
Typical or another whoops-a-daisy for the older generation - who will change under Green Dave?

I agree with what he's saying. 1st class is indeed usually quieter, with a different kind of traveller. Where I disagree is where he thinks we should all fucking pay for his ticket so he doesn't have to be bothered by kids' playing and people talking.
What a shame.
What a shame.

Re: 1st class only Tories
Hi
I suspect this is the real face of the Tories which is why PR man, Cameron is moving to distance himself from Nicolarse. He realises this doesn't go down well with Joe Public.
It wasn't so long ago that Alan Duncan, a Shadow cabinet member was given the heave-ho from the cabinet for complaining to an interviewer that MPs were being forced to live on rations.
The only difference, I suspect, between Winterton/Duncan and the rest of the Conservatives is that these characters aren't smart enough to realise that this is not "on" message.
Cheers

Winterton is standing down anyway, so he won't be much of a problem.
I don't particularly want to travel with people who wear football shirts and screaming kids, but I don' expect anyone else to fund my snobby desires.

We have need of you again, great king.

I neither state nor imply the above in my post. In fact, I remember travelling to North Wales once and being very amused by Glenys Kinnock's anger at having to travel on a train that had no first class carriage. Neil just had a laugh.
However, what I would say is that the Conservatives have always been the party of the rich and privileged and despite Cameron's PR attempts, I suspect that this has not changed - hence the ludicrous, "I've just flown in from Mars" type comments from Duncan and Winterton.
I refer you below , yet again to the work of the Labour Government. As I recall, all you could come up with in response was that if we make the capitalists richer there is a trickle down effect.
You may think I am not entirely convinced by your argument. I couldn't possibly comment.

You suspect blah blah blah blah. This coming from a man who reckons everybody is innocent until proven otherwise. I'm afraid your suspicions don't count for much.

This seems a nonsensical statement to me. You are mixing up having a view of a political party which we are all entitled to have, with being charged with a crime in a court of law.
You can have a a view of a political party based on your experience of them in government and opposition. This is perfectly legitimate. And not a question of innocence or guilt in a legal sense.
With regard to a crime such as for example, covering up a death which is what Amaral accuses the McCanns of doing in his book, in both the UK and Portugal you are innocent until proven guilty.
If the Conservatives are not the party of the rich and the privileged as I suspect, then please give me a list of what Thatcher, Major etc did in terms of helping the less way off. My belief is based on the experience of living under a Thatcher/Major government in which a number of the key players are currently still around in the opposition.
