McCann's win case against Amaral book

One in the eye here for the McCanns' guilty until proven innocent brigade.

My own particular favourite was Peter's argument that he felt that as a result of some possible deal with Max Clifford, there had been an airbrushing out of the fact that they had left their kids unattended while on holiday.

I often wondered why I hadn't heard much about the Battle of Hastings recently. I reckon it must be because Harold's descendants have paid Max Clifford to quash any stories about what a poor fight he put up against that William the Conqueror.

Anyway, said book put together by the bent copper, Amaral who jumped before he got the boot from the Portuguese police, suggests that Maddy died in the holiday flat and that the McCanns covered this up. The Portuguese court refused to overturn the ban on his book.

A separate court case is being brought to sue the arse off Amaral for defamation. Looks like Amaral should start saving his small change.

Its absolutely outrageous..Having made up his mind they were guilty,he chose to ignore dozens of sightings from credible witnesses,any of which may have led to her return! And how many people Wouldnt report a possible sighting on the basis " i must be imagining it,as why would he accuse them if he didnt know something"and what would the effect be on their campaign to raise awareness and raise more funds to help search for her! ......I dont know FOR A FACT whether they are guilty of foul play or not,but on the basis of No body,witnesses or evidence i prefer to believe they are innocent until proven otherwise......

Well,its good to start the day in agreement-theres the rest of the day to get thru! ...I really cant help but feel for them.If you assume they ARE innocent ,how on earth to you cope with all the emotions and thoughts they must be experiencing? The feelings of guilt,to start with..then desparation ... and sheer hopelessness that YOU are the main suspect,so other avenues arent even being explored! Even if you "cope",reasonably,every waking moment would be consumed with turmoil....... and without any proof of guilt,he does a book on them! What an absolute scoundrel and morally destitute man ....

Yup, like you I have no idea whether they are guilty or not but in the absence of any trial, body etc, I take the innocent until proven guilty line.

With that in mind, this must be like a living nightmare for them that has no seeming end. My heart goes out to them and all those in a similar situation.

Its just awefull isnt it....and if losing their daughter wasnt enough,the fact they will always have people wondering whether they Did actually dispose of the body? ... and now what happens if there IS a sighting anywhere? Do the police treat it seriously..they are out of money nowso i would hope so..Its a nightmare..If anyone needed that ?56m jackpot win,it was them...

This so called copper Amaral is not a scoundrel.
He is an utter SHYTE and if the McCanns are succesful in their case against him he deserves everything he is going to get to have to pay them.
The Portugesers must be really pissed off that such an incompetent scheming bastard as Amaral has destroyed any credibility that the Potugese authorities may have had.
He, single handedly, made the Keystone Kops look extremely professional.
Shame really as Portugal and the Portugese are really nice and I enjoyed every day that I spent there so much that I am considering retirement there.

As far as I am aware, Amaral is going to be sued for a million.
I agree with your comment about the Portuguese. Had a great time in Lisbon and along the coast. Fantastic place
