The term 'died' is often applied to actors who churn out a particularly bad performance. So Jamie Gillis could have died artistically, and then died of embarrassment a few days later and Arch would be vindicated (whatever vindicated actually means).

What a surprise, an error on Wiki.

Looking only occasionally at this site I must admit this came as
a surprise to me too !
Being one of the dinosaurs of dirt directorially speaking, I both knew
him in L.A. and had used him in sleazy roles in a couple of features
about a decade ago.....
He was charming off-camera with the quiet unassuming manner of
