The ad may be awful but at least you remember it. It means you are aware of the company and what they sell. It's made them stand out in the crowd, it doesn't matter if the add was good or bad, it's made you notice, surely what advertising is all about.

I sort of agree with that- you find yourself walking along humming the go compare or compare the meerkats. . . . . the twats on the confused advert I wouldn't tire of slapping them.

and foe the halifax advert- there's always the mute button

Much more than a handful but never a waste.

I also heard that he gives his fee from the ads to charity

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

In the worst advert category I would have to put the new Gillette advert where the mechanic performs an M.O.T. on the blokes Gillette Fusion Razor ... 1 part hilarious and 99 parts pish.!wink!

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Their eyebrows were actually pulled by strings, erased in post-production.

A great ad, but what's it got to do with chocolate? Who knows, but you remember the brand, so job done.

All very true, but it's the number who notice that count. The gold standard is when an ad/campaign enters the collective awareness ("Calm down....it's only a commercial," etc). This thread alone proves Halifax have done that.

Want a really bad advert? What, exactly, is this trying to say:

I'd forgotten about the Cadbury Smash adverts.

Bugger, I'm going to have to think about revising my favourite now.
