Just wondering if uninsured dogs will get crushed the same way as cars

Speaking as someone who had a rottie/mastiff cross, I'm not overly against this. The article says all dogs must be insured not just the usual suspects. Does seem a bit unenforceable though, especially if the person is homeless.

My understanding that the proposal for compulsory insurance is tied to the plan for compulsory mirco-chipping.

The idea is then that someone goes round checking the mirco-chipping and that is checked against the database to see whether the dog has insurance.

A bit like the system for automatic vehicle registration plate checking, where if the police find a vehicle without insurance when checked against the insurance database the vehicle is taken off the road.

Any dog whose mirco-chip throws up no insurance is taken off the road.

I neither support, nor not support this, just trying to explain how I think the proposal is supposed to work.

If they're sodding bull terriers and staffies, I hope so. Worst dogs ever.
