OK, so I'm turning 50 soon and that's not exactly old and I can still run upstairs, my cock still wakes me up at night and I think I can concentrate better now than I ever could as a young punk. BUT, I have noticed I'm becoming increasingly short tempered. I tend to bang things around when they don't work (things, not people) and get really pissed off at everyday interruptions.
So, is this just a part of slowly turning into an old cunt? Or should I seek 'professional help' from some moron in a white coat?

Re: Bad Temper - Old Age Inevitability ?
Hi Deano,
Comes to us all at some point I'm afraid. Although you have a couple of years on me yet (am a very youthful 46 this year) I have noticed an inclination in myself to get my 9 year old daughter to turn her music down, a shortness of temper with stupid day to day situations like the buses running late or youngsters jumping the cue at the post office.
Sorry to say I think it's definately a sign of turning into ' an ol cunt' !grin!
look on the bright side - you can pretend to be deaf and should always be able to get a seat on a bus - you know, the ones with the label that says 'Please give up if an elderly person stands and glares at you for too long you young sod'.......
many a fine tune played on an old fiddle so they say

50 is not 'old age' in the sense of a person become physically or mentally differnt. That doesnt happen until someone passes about 75, that is when many people become moaners, start to have a go at people over things they never had a go at people about before, and so on. Society has always regarded people as being still of normal mind and body right up to when they are 65 - hence the reason for the retirement age being then. After 75 is when many people start to become noticably less able, and snap at people for no real reason.

It can depend upon how old your children are. I'm way passed 50 and my children are no longer teenagers, I became much more relaxed when they had all passed 23.
And Jim - no matter how old I get I will never read the Daily Mail, if I go somewhere for coffee and get free papers - rather than the Mail I would go as far as to read the Sun, Mirror, Star or even the Labour Party Weekly.

You're not going to believe it but the Daily Mail is actually "Radical", I've never bought it, but I've looked at it and they simply HATE EVERYONE! This government, the Yanks, The French, Israelis, the Tories, the Bankers, power companies etc. I actually buy the Sun but I hate their slavish devotion to the warmongering Yanks and Israelis, thanks to their boss Murdoch.
The Mail seems to be the only paper actually daring to say that we are all being fucked over, by everyone. However I could never bring myself to buy it.

Re: Bad Temper - Old Age Inevitability ?
The other day I was working with yet another beautiful young blonde in Budapest. She excitedly ran up to me and said, "Jim, I've been to the sex show in Milan and they all loved me, yes ,they adored me, there must have been 200 photographers all trying to get a pic!"
I looked at my cameraman another 50+ and we sighed, as we reminisced on how nice it was in the old days to have innocent dreams and how naive are the young folk at being surprised that 200 lust crazy Italians would so obviously love a cute little blonde...........at least until the next one turns up!
When you get to 50 you're not miserable, just a bit more "Knowing" about the realities of life. However, having said that you can have an even greater time, because you are not saddled with all the issues and crap that you carry around when your a youngster. I'm having a great time being my age! !laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!
